2016 Westerly Red is a "super Tuscan" style wine. 40% Malbec, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Sangiovese and 3% Cabernet Franc. The Sangiovese melds with the Merlot and Cabernet imparting a hint of sour red cherries, earthy aromas and rich tannins. A hint of Cab Franc lends brightness, finesse and a peppery perfume. "Flashy and intense aromas of black cherry and blackberry meet with smoke and tar on the dark and rich but very approachable nose of this bottling.
