Niklas 2018 'Luxs' Kerner Sudtirol DOC Alto Adige, Italy

Available:  Only 2 left in stock $18.99
Size: 750.00ml
Kerner is a white grape variety grown widely across Germany. It was first bred in Wurttemberg in 1929 by crossing Riesling and Trollinger (Schiava Grossa), and was named for Justinus Kerner, a 19th-Century German poet and writer of drinking songs. It is also grown widely in Italy's Alto Adige, the German-speaking region in the far north-east of Italy, just south of the Austrian border. The altitude of these vineyards gives the wine an excellent backbone of acidity. This 2018 Kerner is vinified in stainless-steel with no malolactic fermentation and no oak, allowing the wine to show the true flavors of the earth. Intense aromas of ripe fruits and citrus with spicy tones, mineral and floral. Intense, fresh and clean on the palate with citrus flavors and sweet fruit body. Persistent and mineral finish. Great with any appetizers, white meats, seafood, salads, risotto, pasta with cream sauces and fruit. Try it with Spaghetti Carbonara.
