Thacher_Zinfandel

Red 1 – 2019 Thacher Zinfandel, Paso Robles
100% Zinfandel

Family owned and operated, Michelle and Sherman Thacher started their winery with the purchase of the Kentucky Ranch vineyard in the Adelaida District of Paso in 2003. The winery and tasting room opened in 2008. If you have the chance to visit, mentioned that you tried this Zin in your wine club at Uncorked!

Winemaker Notes: Our “village” Zinfandel, tapping into vineyard sources across the Paso Robles AVA including Thacher Winery’s own Kentucky Ranch vineyard. This is a great representation of Westside Paso Zin, and many of the vineyards contributing to the blend harken back to “old school” California viticulture practices, being both head trained and dry farmed.

Food pairings: BBQ ribs or chicken, Mexican dishes.

Montagnete_CotesDuRhoneVillage

Red 2 – 2021 La Montagnette Cotes du Rhone Villages Signargues, France
50% Syrah, 35% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre

Montagnette is produced at Les Vignerons D'Estezargues, a small Southern Rhone Cooperative located in the Gard Departement, west of Villeneuve-Les-Avignon. They are a unique co-op because each vineyard is farmed sustainably and the wines are bottled separately for each estate. The co-op's commitment to environmentally-respectful viticulture and to non-interventionist winemaking made it possible to follow the "Terra Vitis" charter: no cultured yeasts, no filtration, no fining, no enzymes, no SO2 on the grapes at harvest (or during the vinification), only a little bit for bottling.

Aromas of stewed strawberries and raspberries, dried cherries and figs, flourish with a big burst of cinnamon and a waft of barbecue smoke. The palate is full and ripe, with building tannins and enough acidity to keep flavors fresh.

Food pairings: Simple, comfort food dishes like burgers, roast chicken, and grilled meats

Puramun_Res_Chardonnay

White 1 – 2020 Pepe Galante 'Puramun' Reserva Chardonnay, Mendoza, Argentina
100% Chardonnay

Jose "Pepe" Galante is widely considered the most important winemaker in Argentina's history. Chief winemaker at Catena Zapata from 1976 until 2010, Pepe showed the world that Argentina could make world-class wines. Founded in 2010, Puramun is Pepe's first-ever personal project owned by his family.

Aged 9 months in 20% new French barrels, this high elevation, cool climate wine is similar in style to a Burgundian or Oregon Chardonnay. Dusty aromas of lanolin backed by peach and dried cheese notes. This has a full and healthy palate toting melon, apple, vanilla and light oak favors.

Food Pairing: Lobster, salmon, scallops, crab & corn bisque, scalloped potatoes.

SanMarzano_Negroamaro

Red 1 – 2020 San Marzano F Negroamaro, Salento IGP, Puglia, Italy
100% Negroamaro

Winery Notes: Three vineyards marked with a letter on wood so as to identify them. “F” as in Feudi di San Marzano, a name that is integral to our history. Negroamaro is steeped in history, and in this expression, it becomes particularly velvety and elegant, fleshy and prone to aging.

The hot, dry climate of southern Italy where the temperature drops only at night, is home to this indigenous grape varietal. The soil has a red hue from iron oxides. These conditions combined with hands on winemaking and 12 months in French oak, give this wine its deep purple hue, complex spicy aromas and hints of cherry jam. Full bodied, rich tannins and a long finish. If you love big bold Cabernet, you will love this wine!

Food Pairing: Savory appetizers, red meats, aged cheeses.

MarchelleOldVineFamilyCuvee

Red 2 – 2021 Marchelle Family Old Vine Cuvée, Mokelumne River AVA
Proprietary Red Blend

Marchelle Wines represents a thrilling new chapter in renowned Sonoma winemaker Greg La Follette's (Flowers, La Cream, Hartford Court) journey. With Marchelle, he employs traditional winemaking techniques combined with modern innovations to create wines that harmonize balance, finesse, and complexity.

Winemaker Notes: Some of the oldest vineyards thrive in the Mokelumne River AVA between Lodi and the Sacramento Delta. The Bechthold Vineyard is indeed the oldest Cinsaut planting in the world, struck on its own roots in 1882 and farmed organically. The majority of this blend is Carignane from the “1900 Block” of Jessie’s Grove, which includes 10% of the almost extinct white grape Monbadon, also known as Berger. All of these vines are own-rooted, dry-farmed and certified heritage vineyards.

Moderately dark in color, this wine presents a complex nose with dark fruits, earth and hints of woodruff. The palate presents well-sculpted tannins supported by a good acid backbone that leads to a long, lingering finish echoing the fruits first found on the nose.

SanMarzano_Edda

White 1 – 2021 San Marzano 'EDDA' Bianco, Salento IGP, Puglia, Italy
60% Chardonnay, 20% Fiano, 20% Wild Muscatel

Winery Notes: Edda (‘she’ in Salento dialect) is the feminine and sensual soul of San Marzano. It is a complex white wine, full of Mediterranean notes. Noticeable acidity intertwined with an enveloping and elegant warmth, savoury and mineral notes on the palate. The Chardonnay grapes give the wine finesse and longevity, together with different varieties indigenous to Puglia, that year after year compete to complement the blend.

Aged in French oak for 4 months on the lees. Floral notes, peach and delicate vanilla hints on the nose. Elegant, fresh and mineral.

Food Pairing: Appetizers, fish courses and cheese

PINOT CLUB

Marchelle_FourthAct_Pinot

Pinot 1 – 2021 Marchelle Family 'Fourth Act' Pinot Noir, Carneros
100% Pinot Noir

Winemaker Notes: The primary vineyard of this blend is the Huichica Creek Vineyard in Napa Carneros. A smattering of other vineyards found their way into the blend, including single barrels of Manchester Ridge and van der Kamp up on Sonoma Mountain. The grapes were de-stemmed but not crushed. Fermentation was done using indigenous or “wild” yeast. The young wine was racked early off of the yeast lees, blended and returned to barrel with 25% new oak, then aged for 17 months.

Bright berry, earth and sandalwood grace the aromas of the wine, which follow through to the palate. An excellent backbone of acidity complements the finely-sculpted tannin structure. The aftertaste lingers with a long and complex finish.

Food Pairings: Cedar Plank Salmon, mushroom dishes, truffle salami
ValleIsarco_Blauburgunder_PinotNero

Pinot 2 – 2020 Eisacktal Cantina Valle Isarco Blauburgunder (Pinot Nero), Alto Adige, Italy
100% Pinot Noir

Winery Notes: Pinot Nero is a wine made of a variety of noble origins: from Burgundy in France, it was brought to South Tyrol about 100 years ago. The warm hillsides around Campodazzo, in the lower Valle Isarco, provide the ideal conditions for the growing of this acclaimed variety, giving the wine the expressivity and typicality that have made it one of the most refined reds.

Known as Blauburgunder - the Austrian name for Pinot Noir or Pinot Nero - the Italian name for Pinot Noir. This wine shows an intense, velvety texture with a balanced tannic content, characteristically dry, full, with a pleasant slightly bitter note.

Food pairing: Game, spitted meats, stews, spicy cheese

Disanfrancesco_LangheNebbiolo

Red 1 – 2020 Roberto Voerzio 'Disanfrancesco' Langhe Nebbiolo, Piedmont, Italy
100% Nebbiolo

Winemaker: One of the most revered producers in Barolo today, based in La Morra, is Roberto Voerzio. His path to success has been based on what are considered to be the lowest yields of fruit in the Barolo zone. Production is very limited, and the winery makes less than 4000 cases per vintage, which equals less than one bottle per vine. He’s a modernist to the extent that he fashions his wine away from the traditional tannic Barolo style, not overly extracted and oaky. This is an Italian cult winery at its finest.

Tasting Notes: The Langhe Nebbiolo ‘Disanfrancesco’ comes from estate vines located in La Morra, facing southeast. Vines are carefully pruned, to ensure very low yields. Fermented on indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and aged 12 months in tonneaux (30% new) then an additional eight months in 25HL “botti” and tank, the unfined and unfiltered wine has aromas of black cherries, dried wildflowers, mint, and white pepper.

Food pairings: Beef and pasta dishes, ahi tuna steaks, pecorino or parmesan cheeses

Tolaini_Valdisante_Toscana

Red 2 – 2018 Tolaini 'Valdisanti' Toscana, Chianti Classico, Tuscany, Italy
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Cabernet Franc

Winemaker Notes: Youthful, rich dark fruit, berry and cassis aromas meld with notable French oak spice. On the palate, Valdisanti is full-bodied with deep but reserved fruit flavors framed by rich oak. The excellent balance of fruit intensity with fine tannins indicates a cellar-worthy wine. The wine spends 16 months in French barriques, of which 6 months are spent resting on the fine lees. Maceration 25 days.

"A vibrant, lively red, this boasts cherry, raspberry and floral aromas and flavors, accented by toasty oak. Deftly balanced and persistent, firming up nicely in the end, with terrific length and freshness. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2024." - Wine Spectator, 95 Points

Food pairings: Beef, Lamb, hearty pastas with tomato based sauces

Tement_Sudsteiermark_SauvBlanc

White – 2021 Weingut Tement 'Kalk & Kreide' Sauvignon Blanc, Südsteiermark DAC, Austria
Organic / Biodynamic / Vegan
100% Sauvignon Blanc

Winemaker Notes: "This organic wine belongs to the most important wines of our family winery. It is a unique terroir mix of 55 Sauvignon blanc parcels mainly grown on mineralic limestone soil. The grapes have been selectively harvested by hand. The low yields in combination with optimal vineyard management ensure high physiological ripeness of the grapes. The fantastic vintage is inspired by complexity and deep citric flavours. Ripe pears blended with aromatic elderberries. A mix of air and time reveal spicy cassis on the palate."

"Brimming with ripe citrus, but also freshly mown grass and garden herbs, plus a touch of bell pepper. On the palate this marries that wide spectrum of aromas with lovely freshness and chalky minerality." - James Suckling

Food pairings: Appetizers, salads, pan fried trout, smoked salmon
