3. Dachshund Riesling
2018 Rheinhessen, Germany
This is a carefully crafted wine from the German Rheinhessen region. Vines are grown along the rolling hills of the Rhine River. Rheinhessen, the largest German wine-growing area has an 1000+ year old tradition of wine-growing. The wine is full flavored with both pear and citrus fruit aromas. Stimulating on the palate, as well fresh and fruity it has a nice sweetness balanced with the typical crisp Riesling acidity and a long-lasting finish. Like the Riesling, Dachshunds are clearly influenced by their place of origin. Amusing, clever, affectionate and brave, they are cunning rascals at heart and very curious creatures. Like this crisp Riesling, Dachshund is a tribute to their proud German ancestry. Enjoy a glass of this clever little hound Thai dishes. Woof! $15.99/btl

4. Domaine Dupuy de Lôme Bandol Rosé
Biodynamic
2020 Bandol, Provence, France
70% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, 10% Cinsault
On the nose, aromas of peach, strawberry and white pepper waft from the glass with a subtle spicy and savory undertone. On the palate, this Bandol delivers excellent structure and depth of flavor with a tightly wound, mouthwatering acidity balanced perfectly by a soft, supple texture. Those peach and strawberry flavors lead seamlessly into an elegant finish with notes of blood orange and herbs. Dupuy de Lôme's Bandol rosé is the perfect example of the Grand Cru quality wines from this part of the French Riviera possess. Ideal on its own, this wine also pairs wonderfully with dishes rich in olive oil and garlic (especially with aioli), but also is great with paella, stuffed vegetables and Mediterranean fish dishes. $31.99/btl

Red
5. Balletto Pinot Noir
2018 Russian River Valley
A lovely wine. A skinny-dip dive through just-right water. Forest-floor earthliness, dark, savory spice and a slight touch of bright red fruit combine with a silky palate that lingers over its poised, age-worthy structure. Then, there’s the crisp acidity that keeps the wine lively and intertwines gracefully with the structure. So serious, yet balanced and approachable. This is the Balletto Pinot style. The wine has struck a fine balance and will improve during the next three to five years (or more) in bottle. The wine’s floral fruitiness makes it an elegant accompaniment to fennel-crusted roast pork loin and pan-roasted vegetables. $29.99/btl

6. Istine Chianti Classico DOCG
Organically Grown
2018 Tuscany, Italy (Sangiovese)
“Enticing aromas of iris, red berry and pine forest are front and center on this stunning red. Made with organically grown Sangiovese, the structured palate is surprisingly fresh for the hot vintage, offering succulent red cherry, raspberry jam, clove and cinnamon alongside fine-grained tannins and tangy acidity.” - Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast (94 Points) $25.99/btl

7. J Bookwalter 15 NV Notebook Red
Columbia Valley, Washington
The Notebook Red wine is crafted to be approachable and easy to drink. The NV15 is smooth, juicy, with well structured tannins that gives this wine body and weight. Ruby translucent red in color, this wine gives off aromas and flavors of cherry, plum, spice, and soft vanilla. Multiple vintages and grape varieties are blended to make this wine, it is far from one noted as it finishes with a touch of savory notes. One of the best values that Washington State has to offer. $15.99/btl

8. Matthiasson Cabernet Sauvignon
2017 Napa Valley
In the tradition of Matthiasson Cabernet Sauvignon, this vintage includes a small amount of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, and is blended from six vineyards throughout the Napa Valley. The three AVAs are Coombsville for structure and black fruit, Rutherford for savory Cabernet characters and bright fruit, and Oak Knoll for soft fruit. It is a Napa Cab of the old school, a blended wine, age-worthy, complex, and begging for a steak off of the grill. The nose shows abundant red fruits, lots of bright cherry along with bramble-berries, such as blackberry, cranberry, mulberry, and framed with hints of mineral/herbal characters such as graphite, cedar, and pencil shavings. The palate is vibrant and fresh, with light tannin and beautiful acidity. Decanting is highly recommended. $64.99/btl
