Red 1 – 2021 Bodegas Mauro Red, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León, Spain
85% Tempranillo, 15% Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Graciano
Bodegas Mauro was established in 1980 by Mariano García (Vega Sicilia’s 40-year winemaker) in homage to his father. Enclaved halfway along the River Duero in the Castilian town of Tudela, the Bodegas Mauro philosophy has been based from the very beginning on producing age-worthy wines that are deeply rooted in the territory. The plants are trained on bush vines on calcareous clay soil, which is light, easy-to-work and filtering with a balanced texture and high pH. With very little water due to the immense evaporation and low rainfall, the vines suffer from major hydric stress, yet this is limited by good deep root development which allows them access to water reserves in the subsoil.
Fragrant, full of red fruit and freshness, more length than width in its dimension. The delicacy of the ensemble and the dynamism of its tannic texture stand out.
Food Pairings: Beef and lamb dishes, sausage, cured meats

Red 2 – 2021 Mas Martinet-Bru, Priorat, Spain
Certified Organic
30% Grenache, 29% Syrah, 24% Carignan, 12% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Martinet Bru is mainly sourced from a single vineyard, known as Mas Seró. This vineyard is located within the “Vi de Vila” (village wines) zone of Masos de Falset. It adjoins the D.O. Montsant (wine appellation) and has a similar climate to Montsant, although the differentiating factor is the soil, which is Llicorella (slate-based). The soil is stony but the vineyard is cool in terms of climate. It faces the cooling sea breeze (known as the “Garbinada”) and the quality of the soil means this wine is more drinkable and easier to understand than most Priorat wines, affording it hint of licorice, blackberries… rosemary… and tannins.
Food Pairings: Catalan style lentil soup with picada, sausages, pepper stew

White – 2023 Columna Albariño, Rias Baixas DO, Spain

Grown in warmer conditions, Columna achieves beautiful balance and ripeness under the careful guidance of Rodri Mendez, considered one of the best growers and winemakers in Galicia and a world-class authority on Albariño.
Albariño's crisp clean flavors are extremely versatile. Seafood, clams, oysters are what the local Galician people eat with this queenly grape. It also pairs like magic with Sushi, Indian, or Thai. Other pairings that are successful include hard-to-pair, popular take-out meals like cold sesame noodles, chicken tikka masala, pad thai, and tacos.
