Cirro_PinotNoir

Pinot 2 – 2019 Cirro Pinot Noir, Marlborough, New Zealand
100% Pinot Noir

Winemaker notes:
Cirro - ‘The highest of all clouds, with thin wispy feather-like tails formed by ice crystals.’ 25,000ft above New Zealand’s Southern Alps and the Marlborough Sounds lie the ‘cirro’ clouds. Pure water falls from these clouds into the rivers and soils of the Wairau Valley, allowing us to create distinctively fresh, vibrant cool climate wines. Mature vines lie on old riverbed with a soil composition of river stones and heavy silt. Fruit was harvested at optimal ripeness, then destemmed and crushed into open-top fermenters and left to cold soak for 5 days before natural fermentation began. Once fermented the wine was transferred to old French barrels for 18 months.

Food Pairings: Mussels in a tomato based broth, Lamb lollipops, salmon or duck dishes.
