Red 1 – 2018 Cellars 33 Vista Luna Vineyard Zinfandel, Lodi, California
100% Zinfandel

Winemaker Notes:
Sourced from the gravelly loam and quartz rich soil of Lodi's Borden Ranch, Vista Luna Vineyards Zinfandel is planted to a genetically identical Clone #3 of Primitivo. Producing small clusters that ripen more evenly than classic large cluster Zinfandel, we're able to harvest the exact type of Zinfandel we desire at Cellars 33 - a well balanced, traditionally styled wine that pairs wonderfully with many types of cuisine.

An all-around well-balanced Zin with aromas and flavors of fresh roses, wild strawberries, black cherry, black and red currant, with dried raisin/prune notes.

Food pairings: Barbecue ribs, based meats, eggplant and Mexican dishes

The Quinta da Foz consists of old vines and olive groves, with an average age of over 80 years, planted in schist soils on steep slopes of terraced vineyards. Their winemaking tradition is associated with innovation, using sophisticated techniques combined with traditional foot treading in granite lagares at a controlled temperature.

Food pairings: Savory meats, grilled or roasted beef, pork or poultry. Burgers, meatloaf, mushrooms and cheeses.

White 1 – 2019 Cellars 33 Rist Vineyard Chardonnay, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma
100% Chardonnay

Winemaker Notes:
While Dry Creek Valley is famous for Zinfandel, the somewhat hidden, and cooler, Rist Vineyard has a wonderful block of cane pruned Chardonnay. Once over-cropped and machine harvested, this gorgeous fruit is now meticulously managed, farmed without chemicals and hand picked for optimal ripeness. Fermented and aged in neutral French oak barrels, we believe you will love this delicious, refreshing and lighter style Chardonnay.

A clean nose of Meyer lemon and white flowers leads to a seamless entry to the palate that is delightful and refreshing.

Food pairings: Halibut or shellfish, simply seasoned poultry and pork dishes.

LouisTete_MoulinAVent_GrandesTerres

Red 1 – 2019 Louis Tête 'Les Grandes Terres' Moulin-a-Vent, Beaujolais, France
100% Gamay

Moulin-à-Vent is nicknamed “The Lord of Beaujolais wines” because of its noble bouquet. Its cellaring potential varies depending on the estate, but certain crus can be kept for over ten years. During that time, it develops slowly and releases its black fruit, spice and floral aromas.

The windmill (moulin) – standing at 278 metres, surrounded by vineyards – is classified as a historical monument. It embodies the prestige and pride of the small appellation, straddles two communes, and benefits from a homogeneous terroir. After a few years, Moulin-à-Vent wines develop aromas of iris, wilted roses, spice and ripe fruit with notes of undergrowth and truffles, providing tannic, structured wines. When younger, they are floral and fruity, with violet and cherry aromas.

Food Pairing: Grilled or roasted meats, Duck breasts with dried fruit and roasted nectarines, cheese courses, chocolate desserts

DiamAndes_CabernetSauvignon

With its unique terroir, combined with the Bordeaux know-how of the owner family and the Argentinean team, it gives birth to distinguished and stylish wines.

"Garnet red with a violet sheen. The nose offers notes of candied redcurrant and pepper with a gentle touch of mint. The structure is prominent with firm, finely grained tannins that feel reactive on the gums right now, but with time in bottle, they will better assimilate. A still rather young, intense red." – Vinous, 90 Points

Food Pairing: Grilled meats, rib eye steak, lamb

Caligiore is a family-owned winery devoted to the production of certified organic wines from Luján de Cuyo in Argentina. From 3,000 feet above sea level in the foothills of the majestic Andes Mountain Range, each of their wines fully captures the unique terroir of the Upper Mendoza River Valley.

Sticking to his organic approach in the vineyard, Gustavo Caligliore harvests the fruit and brings it to his cellar for elaboration. Red 2 – 2021 Pago Ayles 'Cuesta del Herrero' Vino de Pago, Aragon, Spain
Organically Grown
50% Tempranillo, 30% Garnacha, 12% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon

Pago Aylés was founded by Federico Ramón, who in 2003 began his dream of classifying this unique land as the first Vino de Pago in the Aragon region. Just before he died, his dream came true: Aylés became the 10th Vino de Pago in Spain. Today his three children continue to produce special wines from this special land. The vineyard site has a long history of winemaking, dating back to the 12th century by Spanish monks. Influenced by the River Huerva and the Monte San Pablo mountain, the soil is a mixture of clay, limestone and chalk.

BUBBLES CLUB

SplitRail_DaFunk

Bubbles 1 – Split Rail 'Da Funk' Rosé Pét-Nat, Snake River Valley, Idaho
Viognier, Grenache

Winemaker Notes:
Pétillant Naturel, also lovingly known as pét-nat, is wine force-fed into a bottle during the end of its fermentation. The result is a naturally sparkling, low sulfur, unfiltered wine that lives, in infinite frequency, in the bottle. DA FUNK is non-digital wine media that we altered by manipulating loops, equalizing the bass, tweaking the modulation, and cranking the mother-frequencing synthesizer. A co-fermented rosé of sorts made from Viognier and Grenache that pulsates in the radiophonic space-time continuum. This bottle of Funk is pink wine in its most electromagnetic form.

PodereSapaio_Volpolo

Red 2 – 2021 Podere Sapaio 'Volpolo' Bolgheri, Tuscany, Italy
Certified Organic
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Petit Verdot

Massimo Piccin is one of the happiest, most generous and charismatic people one could ever meet. He enjoys the good life and is passionate about making wines that showcase elegance, power and longevity. He founded Podere Sapaio in Bolgheri near the coast of Tuscany in 1999, and while Massimo only produces two wines, they actually start out as 25 different wines considering he vinifies and ages each varietal from individual plots separately before he puts the final blends together.

Aged for 16 months in a combination of new and used French oak barriques as well as larger casks, with another four months of aging in bottle before release. The oak aging contributes aromas of cedar and sandalwood which are met with notes of black currant, blueberry, black peppercorn, tobacco and ash on the fairly full-bodied and concentrated palate.

Food pairings: Steak au Poivre, or other beef or lamb dishes

InstitutAgricole_PetiteArvine

White – 2022 Institut Agricole Regional Petite Arvine, Vallée D'Aoste, Italy
100% Petite Arvine

As the name implies, Institut Agricole Régional, is a regional agricultural institution located near the town of Aosta dedicated to education, research and experimentation in agriculture. There is a working farm which includes all kinds of crops from plants, cereals, fruits and vegetables to dairy and meat products, and of course wine! A modern winery was established in 2005 from which over a dozen wines are produced from most of the main varietals of the region.

Fermented in stainless steel tank and aged on its lees for five months with an additional month in bottle before release. It really stood out for its vibrant citrus and floral nose and its appealing, fleshy core of fruit on the mid palate. The wine finishes in a clean and sleek way with good balancing acidity. The wine speaks to its alpine character well and would be a natural pairing with hard alpine cheeses and salumi.
